Self-Defense Options
By utilizing four ranges of comba (kicking, punching, trapping or "clinch", and ground), and applying and developing the scientific principles of body mechanics and a proven fighting methodology you will learn the most functional aspects of survival and combat fighting. We use Paul Vunak's PFS matrix and Jeet Kune Do Concepts as well as American Kickboxing for the base of our survival fighting.
Kali-Escrima
Whether on the ground, on your feet, or in your car or home, knowing how to effectively use a weapon will give you the advantage. You will learn the training tips used by the most proficient weapons fighters. Training with sticks and knives will help you with sparring attributes such as timing, distancing, footwork, and line familiarization. This method of training helps you learn to adapt common items such as keys, notebooks, water bottles, and pens as weapons. You can learn Kali as part of our JKD program, or you can train it privately as a separate art.
Combat Submission Wreslting
Unlike fighting for sport, where both competitors try to achieve victory by knockout, submission, or by points, the primary goal of
defensive tactics is self preservation. Let’s face it, most of us aren’t trying to be the next UFC world champ - more than likely,
you’ll be accosted on your way to the store or the mailbox, or while walking your dog; there may be more than one assailant, or maybe
an edged or impact weapn is involved. You just want to learn a realistic way to survive. What we will teach you, just as we have taught
elite security, law enforcement, and military personnel, (as well as girl scouts, and other community groups) is to evade, intercept,
then terminate your adversary. We do not teach how to brawl; we teach how to cheat, and to survive an attack with surgical precision.
What we do isn’t necessarily pretty or flashy, in fact sometimes it down right nasty, but when you are trying to survive, who cares?
Combat Jeet Kune Do
We teach what’s illegal in the UFC, Affliction, and other MMA sports - this is truely filthy MMA
The ground is the fourth range of fighting and we use Erik Paulson's Combat Submission Wrestling as the base for our Survival Ground Fighting program.
We practice the locks and movement patterns and then apply street fighting aspects by adding in the lost art of Kino Mutai, (pinching and biting), and “ground and pound” to our submission fighting. This is the JKD of ground fighting. This is integrated into the Combat Jeet Kune Do- Survival Fighting program, or you can learn it as a separate art.
We combine aspects of the following:
